Great-great Grandfather's summer farm, Orsa, SwedenBy Linda Gronvall In 2008 we had the privilege of visiting Sweden, the land of our ancestors. The gracious interest of family friends led us to the summer pasture (Fabor) of my husband's Great-great grandfather, Jeppa Per Jonsson. He became know in Isanti, Minnesota as Peter Winlund. How fascinating to walk the land that he had owned. One of these buildings had 1850 carved in the side....he left Sweden in 1870..... did he cut these trees and built this log barn for his cows? Or is it even older? The Midsommer wildflowers added their beauty to the memorable scene. |
