SAS introduces a requirement for passengers to wear face masks, in line with the EU's new guidelines. It is one of a number of measures the company has introduced to reduce the risk of spreading infection on board. "We have chosen to follow the European industry practice of using face masks as there is limited space on board aircrafts," says Mattias Hedrén, VP SAS Group Operations Safety. SAS has already introduced a number of measures to reduce the risk of the spread of covid-19. Everything from changed ticket booking procedures to new routines on boarding. “Rest assured, we are taking all aspects concerning health and safety extremely serious,” Hedrén says.
