Wireless power for Chicago neighborhood
April 1 - A well known Swedish American heiress has financed the development of a new system for wireless power to be first installed in Chicago's Andersonville area. Local residents will receive free power from the new source after its been properly tested in the field. The technology behind the new installations have been developed by NASA in cooperation with NORRSKEN in Sweden's north.

The former speakeasy NN in the basement of the legendary Simon's bar is the planned location for the first power nodes of its kind in North America. The yet to be identified family behind the gift to the Andersonville community has asked to remain anonymous but declared in a press release that the decision was made after a story in Nordstjernan about the forced removal of the iconic blue and yellow water tank atop the Swedish American Museum early last year.
