Rangers’ Henke has proposed
Hockey pro Henrik “Henke” Lundqvist has proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Therese Andersson. According to daily Expressen, the proposal took place five days before Christmas in a sea of flowers at a romantic New York restaurant. The ring is white gold with diamonds. Earlier speculations had Henke interested in Princess Madeleine, who as we know is also in New York at the moment, but now we all know where his heart is.

First and smallest babies of 2011
Here they are! The new babies at Skansen, Stockholm’s open air museum. Only a few days old, the Pygmy Marmoset babies are still hiding in the arms of their parents, but if you look closely you’ll see two small heads among golden brown fur and humid rainforest plants. “It won’t take long until these babies are up and about by themselves,” says Jonas Wahlström, manager at Skansen Aquarium. The Pygmy Marmoset babies were born on January 1 and are thus the first to be born at Skansen in 2011. Later on that day, a Goeldi’s Monkey was also born. Wahlström estimates that at least 400 Pygmy Marmosets have seen the light at the Skansen Aquarium since 1978. “Sweden is the world’s greatest exporters of the world’s smallest monkey,” he says. “We have created a natural rain forest environment that they are happy in.” The Pygmy Marmoset (also known as Dwarf Monkey) is a New World monkey native to the rainforest canopies of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru and northern Bolivia. It is one of the smallest primates, and the smallest true monkey, with its body length ranging from 14 to 16 centimeters (5.5 to 6.3 inches). That doesn't include the 15- to 20-centimeter (5.9 to 7.9 inch) tail. Males weigh around 140 grams (4.9 ounces), and females only 120 grams (4.2 ounces).

Police continues to probe suicide bomber case
Did the suicide bomber in Stockholm act alone? The police are still not clear about that, though they've received thousands of tips from the public. What seems clear however, is that there are no signs of any connection between the suicide bomber and the planned attack on the Danish newspaper Jyllandsposten (several of the suspects in that case are Swedish citizens).

Commissioner Hanna withdraws “obesity tax” plans
Local politician Stefan Hanna of the Center Party in Uppsala, has apologized after using his blog to call for the introduction of an obesity tax. Hanna admits that many people were insulted by his idea. He had written: "If it costs more to live unhealthily the collective society doesn't say NO! The society says do as you want, but if you elect to live unwisely then you have to pay extra so that we can fund any additional costs that you will cost society, if you get older." However, after a resident of Linköping reported Hanna to the ombudsman for justice, the councilor took to his blog to "apologize to those who feel attacked by interpretations of my post." He added, "I have always been clear that I believe that all people have equal value." Anne Lennartsson, the chair for the Center Party's Uppsala district, added that the blog featured Hanna's "own reflections." She also admitted that the party had debated a "calorie tax," which was compared to taxes on tobacco and alcohol.
