The greatest harvest in nearly 20 years is expected in Skåne, according to a press release from Lantmännen (a group within the food, energy, and agricultural industries in the Nordic region). A large sowing combined with a mild winter and an early spring has allowed for the prognosis. Most of all it is the wheat that stands out, last fall the wheat was sown on an area 40% greater than the year before, more farmable than ever. Malting barley, oats, and oilseed rape is also expected to grow significatly this summer. Now it is up to the summer weather to see if this prognosis comes out.
