April 29 in Swedish History
1521: The Battle of Vasteras was a battle in the Swedish War of Liberation that took place on Badelundaåsen, north of Västerås, Sweden on April 29, 1521. The Swedish troops, led by Gustav Vasa, defeated the Danish force, led by Didrik Slagheck, and conquered Västerås. (Swedish: Slaget om Västerås)

This was the year after Gustav Vasa's alleged 90k ski race to get away from the Danish soliders ... although, there's been voices of concern about the "liberator of Sweden's" actual proficiency at skiing, Gustav Vasa couldn’t ski?
