1971: Sweden’s first-ever Pride demonstration for gay rights takes place in Örebro, organized by the local Gay Power Club. One of the demands presented during the parade is “same sex couples ought to be able to get married.” However, same sex marriages aren’t accepted until May 1, 2009. Today the biggest Pride attraction in Sweden is the Stockholm Pride.

On May 15, 1971 the first Pride demonstration takes place in Sweden (in Örebro). It is arranged by the local Gay Power Club.
