Stefan Löfven – new leader
The head of the union IF Metall, Stefan Löfven will be the new leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. The party’s executive committee confirmed the news at a press conference in Stockholm. Carin Jämtin, the party’s secretary, announced that Löfven is the executive committee’s proposed new leader, praising his leader abilities and “large, social democratic heart”. The final decision will be made next weekend however, but it is practically decided that Löfven will be the next party leader, since he’s got the support of all members in the committee. Löfven is proud and pleased.
“When I look out over Sweden today, I see that it needs strong, Social Democratic policies,” he said.
