Juholt in trouble
Håkan Juholt, the newly elected leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, is in trouble. Media reports alleged he knowingly accepted more rent compensation than he should have. Last week, daily Aftonbladet accused Juholt of letting parliament cover the full rent for his Stockholm apartment despite of the fact that he is sharing it with his girlfriend. Juholt has admitted to receiving 160,000 SEK ($23,500) too much since 2007, but rejects allegations he did so knowingly. According to lawmaker statutes, parliament should only cover the lawmaker's share of the accommodation costs.
