Fewer born
Sweden’s population continues to grow, but the trend with an increased number of newborns was broken during the first part of 2011. According to Statistiska centralbyrån (Statistics Sweden), there were 2700 fewer babies born during the first 6 months this year, compared to the same period in 2010. On June 30, there were 9,446.812 people living in Sweden. Stockholm county increased the most in comparison to the population, and the municipality that increased the most in comparison to the population was Sigtuna. Halland county and Malmö city both passed 300 000 inhabitants.
