The television show “Hylands hörna” (Hyland’s corner) airs for the last time on April 30, 1983. The host of the popular show was Lennart Hyland (1919-1993), who was viewed in his time as one of the greatest on television and radio sports and entertainment. “Hylands hörna” was a radio program to begin with, first broadcast on October 10, 1961. On television it became a classic talk show, with the concept copied from the American “The Jack Paar Show.” Most Swedes gathered in front of their TVs to watch it. Famous episodes include when then Prime Minister Tage Erlander told Värmland jokes and actor Per Oscarsson did a striptease number.
