Cross country skier Swedish flag bearer in Sochi
The opening of the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi will take place on Friday, and carrying the Swedish flag, you will see Anders Södergren, the cross-country skier. ”I didn’t hesitate for a second,” said Södergren when asked. ”It’s an honor, really. And I’ve never participated at an (Olympic) opening.” Anders Södergren has participated in Olympic games before, however, both in Vancouver in 2010, and in Turin 2006. He took a bronze medal in Turin, and a gold medal in Vancouver. Previous Swedish flag carriers have been, among others, hockey player Peter Forsberg (in 2010), and alpine skier Anja Pärson (2006).
