Elfsborg wins fifth straight
BORÅS—League leaders Elfsborg got a goal and an assist from Amadou Jawo to knock off GAIS 2-1 April 26 at Borås Arena. Jawo set up Stefan Ishizaki in the 21st minute to give Elfsborg (5-0-1, 15 pts) a 1-0 lead. Linus Tornblad tied the game nine minutes later for GAIS (1-3-2). Jawo scored the game winner at the 49-minute mark off a pass from Niklas Hult.
Elfsborg tops the table with 15 points, three points better than AIK. For Ishizaki the goal was his third of the season while Jawo picked up his second tally in 2012.

AIK 1, Gefle 0
GÄVLE—Celso Borges scored just 32 seconds into the match to lead AIK (3-3-0, 12 pts) to a 1-0 win over Gefle (1-2-3, 5 pts) April 26 at Strömvallen. AIK has yet to score more than one goal in any match and yet is the only undefeated team in the Allsvenskan.

Häcken 2, Syrianska 1
SÖDERTÄLJE—Häcken notched its third of the season, defeating Syrianska 2-1 April 28 at Södertälje Football Arena. Häcken (3-1-2, 10 pts), needed an injury time goal to claim the win as Rene Makondele scored three minutes into second-half stoppage time to give the Goteborg side the victory. Martin Ericsson put Häcken in front after 43 minutes. Louay Chanko tied the game for Syrianska (1-1-4, 3 pts) in the 59th minute.

Norrköping 3, Malmö 2
NORRKÖPING—Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson scored twice to lead IFK Norrköping to a 3-2 win over Malmö April 29 at Nya Parken. The former Icelandic international staked Norrköping (3-1-2, 10 pts) to a 1-0 lead after 21 minutes. Kimmy Durmaz tied the match for Malmö (3-1-2, 10 pts) in the 52nd minute. Thorvaldsson fired Peking back on top after 80 minutes. James Frempong made the score 3-1 when he tallied in the 88th minute. Jiloan Hamad scored in the 90th minute for Malmö, which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.

Sundsvall 3, Örebro 1
SUNDSVALL—Örebro remained winless on the season following a 3-1 loss April 29 to Sundsvall at Norrporten Arena. Sundsvall (2-2-3, 8 pts) took the lead after 13 when Simon Brink tallied his first goal of the season. Örebro (0-3-3, 3 pts) tied the match in the 16th minute on William Atashkadeh’s second goal of the season. Sundsvall went back on top when Fredrik Holster scored at the 62-minute mark. Roger Risholt added the third in injury time.

Helsingborg 1, Mjällby 1
HELSINGBORG—Alfred Finnbogason scored his third goal of the season but it wasn’t enough as the defending champions settled for a 1-1 draw with Mjällby April 27 at Olympia Stadium. Finnbogason tallied in the 13th minute for Helsingborg (3-3-1, 12 pts). Marcus Pode tied the game at the 72-minute mark for Mjällby (2-3-1, 9 pts).

Djurgården 1, Kalmar 1
STOCKHOLM—A battle between budding Finnish star ended equal as Djurgården played to a 1-1 draw with Kalmar April 29 at Stockholm Stadium. Kasper Woldemar Hämäläinen put Djurgården (1-2-3, 5 pts) in front after three minutes. Paulus Verneri Arajuuri set up the equalizer in the 22nd minute when he hit Daniel Mendes with a pass and Mendes shot home.
