Defending champions Helsingborg had a disappointing start to the season, losing 1-0 April 2 to Norrköping at Nya Parken.
Helsingborg looked shaky throughout the match, especially usually reliable Pär Hansson. The HIF goalkeeper got caught well off his line 10 minutes into the match on a Christopher Telo shot that Cristoffer Andersson cleared off the line. Five minutes later, Andersson again saved Hansson but neither could stop Thorvald Arvidsson.
The big Icelandic striker headed in a long throw from Bobby Friberg da Cruz that HIF defender Joseph Baffo missed on his challenge.
Norrköping maintained its pressure, hitting the post twice while Hansson made a last-second save on a shot from Astrit Ajdarevic.
