AIK is the 2009 Allsvenskan champion.
The Solna side defeated IFK Göteborg 2-1 at Gamla Ullevi Sunday afternoon to claim its first title since 1998.
Daniel Tjernström, the longest-serving player on the team, scored the game-winning goal five minutes from full time off a pass from Dulee Johnson. Tjernström is the only player on the team from the 1998 championship side.
AIK went into the match with a one-point lead over Göteborg in the race for the Lennart Johansson trophy. IFK had to win to pip AIK for the title and Thomas Olsson gave the more than 17,000 fans hope when he scored in the 32nd minute off a corner kick.
The 1-0 lead lasted 23 minutes. Antonio Flavio tied the game for AIK in the 55th minute, giving the Gnaget all they would need to claim the title. When Tjernström scored at the 85-minute mark, it was essentially icing on the championship cake as AIK handed Göteborg its only loss of the season at home.
