Kalmar FF 3, Brommapojkarna 1
KALMAR – Kalmar FF beat Brommapojkarna 3-1 July 19 at Fredriksskans Stadium in Kalmar to run its winning streak to five straight and its unbeaten streak to seven. Kalmar has not lost since dropping a 2-1 decision to Göteborg May 17.
After getting off to an abysmal start that saw the 2008 champions go winless in their first four matches, Kalmar has gone 8-2-1 in its last 11 games. Despite Kalmar’s return to a winning form, Brommapojkarna actually held the lead for much of the game as Imad Chadeh scored five minutes into the match. Bromma, however, did little after the goal and the longer it allowed Kalmar to stay in the match, the more dangerous the defending champions looked.
Rasmus Elm got Kalmar on the scoreboard when he struck in the 75th minute. It was his eighth goal of the season and third in as many matches. Daniel Mendes put Kalmar on top when he scored in the 84th minute. The goal was his fifth of the season. Newcomer Ricardo Santos celebrated his first appearance for Kalmar by scoring two minutes from time.
With the win, Kalmar moved into fourth place in the standings, just four points behind league leaders IFK Göteborg. The Angels top the table with 31 points. Elfsborg is second with 30 while Helsingborg is third with 28.

IFK Göteborg 3, Trelleborg 1
GÖTEBORG – League leaders IFK found a sure cure for the road blues, beating Trelleborg July 20 at home 3-1. IFK opened the second half of the season with a pair of away matches and failed to win either. Against Trelleborg, Jakob Johansson and Thomas Olsson scored in the first half to give Göteborg a 2-0 lead. Fredrik Jensen pulled a goal back for Trelleborg in the 57th minute, but Tagnar Sigurdsson restored the two-goal cushion with he scored in the 81st minute.

Elfsborg 2, Djurgården 1
STOCKHOLM – Djurgården slumped back into the relegation zone, losing 2-1 at home two Elfsborg. Emir Bajrami scored his third goal in two matches to put Elfsborg in front after 18 minutes. Kabba Ceesay tied the game for DIF 10 minutes into the second but former Swedish international Teddy Lucic scored off a corner in the 81st minute to give Elfsborg the win. Elfsborg continues to trail IFK Göteborg by one point.

Helsingborg 2, Gefle 0
GÄVLE – A pair of second-half goals propelled Helsingborg to a 2-0 win over Gefle July 19 at Strömvallen Stadium. Christoffer Andersson tallied at the 47-minute mark to put HIF in front while Erik Sundin scored in the 64th minute to make the count 2-0.

Örgryte 1, Hammarby 0
STOCKHOLM – Hapless Örgryte finally recorded its first win of the season, beating Hammarby 1-0 July 20 at Soderstadion. Markus Allbäck scored three minutes into the match and Örgtyte managed to protect its lead for the next 87 minutes. The match marked a new-look lineup for Hammarby, which lost leading scorer Charlie Davis to French side Sochoux on a transfer.

Häcken 3, Örebro 1
ÖREBRO – BK Häcken climbed into the top half of the standings with a 3-1 win over Örebro. Jonas Henricksson had a hat trick for Häcken, which moved into seventh place with the win. Henricksson scored twice in the first half and once after the interval. Roni Porokara tallied for Örebro.

GAIS 2, AIK 2
GÖTEBORG – AIK rallied from two goals down to grab a point July 20 in a 2-2 draw with GAIS. Tommy Lycen had a goal and an assist as GAIS took a 2-0 lead before the half. Ivan Obolo rallied AIK in the second half as he set up the Gnaget’s first goal then struck for the equalizer in the 77th minute.

Malmö 0, Halmstad 0
MALMÖ – Halmstad stretched Malmö’s winless streak to seven straight with a goalless draw at Swedbank Arena. Malmö last won May 18 and is 0-2-5 during its skid. Halmstad also has not won in its last seven matches, going 0-4-3.
