The two first names on the list of Sweden’s billionaires are not surprising: Number one is Ingvar Kamprad (founder of IKEA), and number two is Stefan Persson (chairman and main shareholder in H&M).
But behind those two giants there’s a real surprise: Torbjörn Törnqvist has managed to climb from being number 15, passing by Antonia Ax:son Johnson (of the Axel Johnson family group) and several members of the Rausing family (of Tetra Pak fame), to number 3.

The 60-year old Törnqvist, who resides in Geneva, is estimated to be worth 65 billion SEK ($9.8 billion) through his holdings in the Gunvor Group, which owns refineries and coal mines, among other things. Törnqvist was the main investor and proponent behind the Swedish challenge for America's Cup 2013. In total there are 136 names on this year’s list of billionaires, which is 17 more than last year. It is also the highest number of billionaires that have existed in Sweden since 2007, which was a record year, according to Veckans Affärer. And the rich are richer than ever.

Among the newcomers are five IT billionaires behind the online game company King; they are estimated to be worth 1.6 billion SEK ($242 million) each, which gives them a shared 100th place. The three 32-year olds behind the credit company Klarna also made the list, a shared 131st place, with an estimated fortune of 1 billion SEK ($151 million) each.
