A bastion for the local Swedes and the nerve center for many cultural and social events over the last sixty years was re-opened after over two years of renovations on September 25. The building's ground floor towards Park Avenue will be used as N.Y. meeting point for the Swedish Embassy in Washington DC, by Sweden's representation at the U.N., with present Swedish UN Ambassador Mårten Grunditz living on the upper floors and the local Swedish Honorary General Consulate.
