Swedish ice hockey goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was born on March 2 in 1982 in Åre. He is currently goalie for the New York Rangers, and before joining them he played for Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien. During his years in Sweden, he developed into the league's finest goaltender, winning the Honken Trophy three consecutive seasons: 2003, 2004 and 2005. In 2005 he also won two of the most prestigious awards in Swedish ice hockey, the Golden Puck and the Golden Helmet. Lundqvist is considered a butterfly style goalie, though unorthodox because of the aggressive way he performs the butterfly. He is best known for his sensational quickness, athleticism and strong positional play. He has an identical twin, Joel Lundqvist, who is a professional ice hockey center for Frölunda HC. In April 2006 Henrik Lundqvist was named one of People's World's 100 Most Beautiful People. In December 2008, he was named one of Page Six Magazine's Top 25 Best Dressed in 2008. Lundqvist also has a restaurant called Tiny's located in TriBeCa, New York City.

Swedish singer, actor, make-up artist and hair dresser Jean-Pierre Barda was born on March 7 in Paris in 1965. He is most known for being one of the founding members of the pop group Army of Lovers. Barda was born into an Algerian Jewish family and came to Sweden as a child. He began working with Alexander Bard (another member of Army of Lovers) as part of the music group Barbie. Army of Lovers had many Top 10 hits on the Eurochart, the biggest being "Crucified," which was one of the best selling European singles of 1991, and stayed at #1 on the Eurochart for eight consecutive weeks. Besides his work in music, Jean-Pierre is also very well known in Sweden as a hair dresser and make-up artist. Additionally, Barda has done work in various fields of digital photography and entertainment starring as an actor in movies, television, multiple photo shoots, and worked in the presence of her majesty, the Queen of Sweden, while assisting mentor and teacher, Björn Axén. Barda currently works with a 3G phone company on developing a TV-style fashion program for mobile phones.

Swedish singer Veronica Maggio was born on March 15 in 1981 in Uppsala. She is of Swedish and Italian origin, and developed her musicality with singing studies at Uppsala Musikklasser. Her debut single “Dumpa mig” was released in 2006, her next single “Nöjd?” came soon after and then her debut album “Vatten & bröd,” with lyrics and music written by Stefan Gräslund. Her latest album, “Satan i gatan,” which came out in the spring of 2011, was a success, and she toured Scandinavia the summer and fall after. Maggio has a son, Bosse, with her boyfriend musician Nils Tull.

Swedish journalist and television personality Filip Hammar was born on March 26 in 1975 in Köping. He’s one part of the duo Filip och Fredrik, known for their youthful, though intellectual, humor and unconventional journalism. They are celebrated for their their relaxed and spontaneous style in front of the camera. As Filip explains: "We just turn on the camera and go." Since 2002, Filip and Fredrik have together produced eleven different television shows, and in the aftermath of the shows' successes in Sweden, they've written books. The duo owns and works within the company "Framgångsfabriken" (The Success Factory), started in 2001, which takes credit for their media appearances. Hammar grew up in Köping where he studied at Ullvigymnasiet. In 2009, Söndagsparty med Filip & Fredrik (Sunday Party with Filip and Fredrik), premiered. This talk show premiered on Sweden’s Kanal 5, and is one of the most expensive shows it has ever produced. Based in New York, the program features American and Swedish celebrities. The program itself is mostly in Swedish and the studio audience is made up of New York-based Swedes.
