The lead singer Maja Ivarsson entered the stage with an 80s pop/punk-rock style, walking in high black stilettos, and to the amazement of the audience, she began the show by lighting a cigarette. Throughout the evening, on November 4, The Sounds played a mixed bag of disco, pop/rock tunes and the song “I’m better off dead” from their latest album “Something To Die For,” which made an ocean of fans jump and scream.

The Sounds, hailing from Helsingborg, is currently on a North American tour—their first in two years—and excited to be back in the U.S.
”I love New York! Here’s the best crowd. We are so glad to be back in USA, it feels like we belong here,” Ivarsson told the audience.
As a rule, The Sounds deliver an energetic performance with attitude. Ivarsson’s charismatic stage expression along with smokey, angsty vocals and guitar solos, made the floor bounce up and down. As a grand finale, she invited the excited crowd up on the stage, and despite a concerned security crew, the band and their fans finished the last song together. It was crazy, it screamed The Sounds.
