National Day without Madeleine
Princess Madeleine won't come to Sweden to celebrate the National Day (June 6). The last time she represented the Swedish Royal Family officially was December 20, last year, during a meeting with the Swedish Academy. Media then talked about Madeleine’s strained relations with her father, the King. According to Swedish press at the time, Madeleine was upset about how he acted over her broken engagement with Jonas Bergström. Instead of representing Sweden, Madeleine has worked with Queen Silvia’s charity organization “World Childhood Foundation” in the U.S. She did not return to Sweden for the King’s birthday (April 30), she was not at the christening of the Danish twins nor was she representing Sweden at the royal wedding in London. And you won’t see her in Sweden for the Swedish National Day either, Swedish media reports.
