Slain foreign minister from Sweden has Södermalm square named for her.

Sweden's much-admired Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anna Lindh, who was slain by an unbalanced Serbian attacker in 2003 in Stockholm, was honored again by having a corner in Sweden's capital named for her.
The location, on the corner of Götgatan and Vårtoftagatan, is on Södermalm island, a central district in Stockholm. The dedication ceremony was lightly attended by currently politically active Swedish dignitaries, including Carin Jämtin and Mona Sahlin.

Lindh lived several years in the Södermalm area and is buried nearby in Stockholm's Katarina Church cemetery. Previously in 2004, a monolithic statue was placed at Medborgarplatsen square, where Lindh delivered her last speech in her life about a week before her death. Her speech was in support of Sweden's adoption of the Euro common monetary system, which was subsequently turned down by voters.
