Annual Christmas Luncheon in San Francisco
Preparations are in full swing for the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce San Francisco/Silicon Valley’s cherished Annual Christmas Luncheon taking place on December 12, with a panoramic view of San Francisco and the Bay from high atop Nob Hill at the venerable Fairmont Hotel. The luncheon will include many traditional Swedish features, such as a beautiful Lucia procession and the Julbord of Christmas food, with holiday delicacies such as mustard glazed ham, pickled herring, ”Janssons Frestelse,” Swedish meatballs, gravlax, crisp rye bread, traditional cheeses and meats, beet salad and the delicious creamed rice dessert.
Talented local members of the Swedish community in San Francisco are already hard at work making sure our Lucia procession is as authentic as it is beautiful. Vice Chairman Ted Olsson will again be toastmaster and tell the Lucia legend, with its origin in Christian folklore, layered with other long-cherished Swedish holiday traditions.

It is a treat for anyone who has not yet experienced this special Swedish tradition, and a great way to start off the holiday season. Our members and non-members are most welcome to join the festivities. This year’s event is more adapted for families: Ages 2 and younger may attend for free and children under 12 may attend at a reduced price. Also, special kids’ activities and a children’s gift exchange ensure that our younger guests will enjoy this event as well.
We hope to see you there. For more info, see http://sacc-sf.org/
