Forty guests—mostly non-members curious about one of the Chamber’s many mixers—showed up to the holiday event, this time more of a relaxed affair with the open bar evidence of that.

Bekris Gallery is a chic downtown gallery with art pieces from all over the world. The evening of the mixer art from Burkina Faso was on display. The sleek, white lines of the gallery mixed well with the Absolut Vodka bar and the Swedish-Californian fusion appetizers from caterer Chef Pelle.

“This was very nice. I like the art, the laid-back feeling of this event,” said guest Jacob Gyllenstierna. First-time attendee, Ikey Schreiber, was invited by member Britt-Marie Mertz and found the event and the chamber’s activities so intriguing that she immediately decided to join as a member. Schreiber works at San Francisco Restaurant Le Colonial where she is the sales manager.

An eclectic crowd of people found their way to the venue which opened at 6 p.m. Both seasoned veterans of the chamber and people new to SACC’s events came to usher in the holiday season on a casual and very positive note. There was a certain impalpable feeling of enjoyment through the night.

Gallery owner Cynthia Plevin aptly identified it by saying, “It strikes me that there is a real mix of people at this event, and they all mingle and converse with each other so effortlessly.”
