The midsummer event, hosted by the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce and Kvänum Kitchens, took place on June 17 in Kvänum’s showroom in downtown San Francisco. The crowd was a mixture of different nationalities, but everybody seemed to enjoy the Swedish delicacies served throughout the evening, consisting of home-cooked meatballs, gravad lax, skagenröra accompanied by the traditional 'nubbe'.

The door prizes for the evening all had some connection to the Swedish culture, and SACC board member Lotta Byström’s daughter Annie was the lucky winner of a kubbspel. The evening proceeded longer than expected and people stayed to chat and have another round of the delicious food. As the evening came to an end the guests all left with a gift bag, including surprises such as a coffee table book and Swedish chocolate. The successful night was highly appreciated and the attendees of the event got themselves a great start of the summer.
