Hästens Beds has paired up with Ritz-Carlton Residences as the official bed for the multimillion dollar condos in downtown L.A. The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles and The Ritz-Carlton Residences At L.A. Live Will Open in 2010 as Part of L.A. Live Sports and Entertainment Complex in City’s Downtown District. The 123-room hotel will be located on the upper floors of a 54-story tower which will also include 224 private condominiums, The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. Live.
The L.A. Live is close to Staples Center, The Nokia Theater, The Grammy Museum, and an array of restaurants and nightspots. The Residence section of the Ritz Carlton are luxury fractional ownership units.

As for Hästens, well, first came Dux, then low cost IKEA, the NASA certified Tempur Pedic mattress (yes, originally Swedish!) then Hästens, which contrary to, e.g, competing Carpe Diem, was around in Sweden since the mid 1800s. Now, very much present in the U.S. after the present fifth generation owner, Jan Ryde, kicked off a major international program in the early 1990s.
Do Swedes do better in bed or, with beds? Be that as it may, we do sleep well, don't we?

For the evening's guests Chef Andreas Volmefjord had prepared the most delicious hors d’oeuvres... carpaccio on toast and an inspired variety of finger food, including "mandatory" gravlax on pumpernickel with dill.
The entertainment was quite unusual. A Russian young dance group performed as if they were trying out for dancing with the stars—and this is where, one way or another, some of them will probably end up in a couple of years.
