Nothing stops a Swedish Midsummer. The annual festivities in New York City's Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park were only temporarily halted during a serious downpour of rain during an earlier year. The Midsummer procession, led by then Consul General of Sweden, NY, David Dangoor, took place minutes before the heavy rain storm arrived but as soon as the weather permitted picnics were once again pulled out, and the folk dancing and the dancing around the Maypole could take place.
