A new EWK Museum was inaugurated on April 1 by Center party leader and Minister of Industry Maud Olofsson
The museum is in the old cotton mill, called 'The Flatiron’ by the locals and considered one of Sweden’s most beautiful industrial buildings—sculptor Carl Milles even considered it the most beautiful.
The newly opened EWK museum is celebrated for four days, April 2-5, with different activities for both children and adults. Ewert Karlsson, better known by his signature EWK, is one of Sweden's most famous political cartoonists. A permanent exhibition of his work is to be found on the third level of the museum, which is located in the city center along Motala Ström. The EWK museum lets the visitor get to know the person and the cartoonist and follow his life from his childhood at the Rävbrinken farm, part of today’s Söderköping municipality, to the publication of his drawings in the New York Times. A special gallery displays some of EWK's work and temporary exhibitions depicts the work of other contemporary political illustrators.
