Vote for American Swedish Institute!
American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation has included the Swedish American Minneapolis institution in a month-long online contest.

American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation has announced that the American Swedish Institute’s Turnblad Mansion, the castle-like historic site, museum and cultural center in Minneapolis, has been chosen as one of 25 Twin Cities locations to compete in a month-long Facebook contest for $1 million in preservation funding.
The program, Partners in Preservation, invites the Twin Cities community to vote for historic places they would like to see receive funding and to share personal stories and photos of their relationships with the places.

Anyone and everyone can — and should — vote for the American Swedish Institute at Partners in Preservation on Facebook beginning Sept. 20 and continuing through October 12.

Facebookers can cast a new vote each day during the campaign. At the end of the voting period the site with the most votes is guaranteed their full grant request.

American Express, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and a special advisory committee comprised of local civic and preservation leaders will review the public’s votes, along with each site’s preservation needs, to determine how the remainder of the $1 million in grants will be distributed.
