A consortium of Swedish companies have created a smart grid for 155 families in an effort to test if behavior about in-the-moment electricity use can alter peopleís energy consumption.

Part of the Stockholm Royal Seaport Smart Energy City project, the consortium hopes to gain a better understanding of how people interact with technology and how that can inform businesses to create better products and solutions for environmental sustainability.

The partners include Ericsson, the Swedish Energy Agency, Fortum, ABB, Electrolux, Ellevio and KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology.
