The crowdfunded student startup Uniti Sweden, which raised $1.3 million through FundedByMe, is about to partner with German Siemens. Plans are to build 50,000 electric cars annually, made from sustainable composite materials, beginning in 2018. The two-seat vehicle, called L7e, has a 15kw engine, weighs just under 900 pounds and will take you 90 miles at a max speed of 80 mph. First deliveries are scheduled for 2019 with a projected price tag of $22,000. Uniti Sweden began as an innovation project at the University of Lund, Sweden.
