Midsommarfest at the American Swedish Historical Museum is hosted by Midsommarklubben, a group of Swedish-speaking volunteers who has taken pride in bringing Swedish holiday traditions to our region for more than 25 years. The Swedish Meatballs will also be performing during Midsommarfest and traditional Swedish music will accompany the many popular dances around the midsommarpole. Refreshments such as smörgåstårtor (sandwich tortes), hot dogs, soft pretzels and home-baked Swedish pastries will be available for purchase. Midsommarfest runs rain or shine and includes general admission to the Museum galleries and our current special exhibition, The Sami Reindeer People of Alaska and Sami-Walking with Reindeer.
