On August 21, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia, in collaboration with the American Swedish Historical Museum, welcomed members and non-members to a kräftskiva.
This, a traditional crayfish party, is what many Swedes in Sweden do at the end of summer. Guests are able to enjoy a taste of the typical flavors of the Swedish end-of-summer party with a lovely buffet of Swedish boiled cold crayfish, Västerbotten cheese pie, meatballs, dill potatoes, schnapps and more.
The dinner was followed by a raffle drawing and auction with prizes donated by a variety of sponsors. It was a lovely evening spent outside in the museum's party tent overlooking the lush greenery of Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park. SACC donated part of the raffle proceeds to the museum and presented a check to the museum's executive director, Tracey Beck. The ASHM and SACC-Philadelphia have collaborated on many events in the past and continue to participate in joint events.
