If you're in New York,
Icelandic Sagas, 'Love, Lust and Longing..' and Simon and the Oaks. There's a truly interesting exhibition on the Icelandic Sagas called Saga Sites at Scandinavia House where 19th century watercolors by Colingwood meet 21st century photographs by Einar Falur Ingólfsson. The exhibition is open Tuesday-Saturday 12- 6 p.m.

Tomorrow, Oct. 11, after watching the Saga Sites show (Scandinavia House is on Park Av. between 37-38 St.) take a casual stroll up to the Norwegian Seamen's Church for a little Love, Lust and Longing - a program organized by American Scandinavian Society with singer-songwriter Anders Holst and singer Eva Engman. The program, starting at 7:30 p.m., is followed by a reception with the artists, cost: $35 for non-members, $30 for members (of American Scandinavian Society - click link for more info and to order tickets) The Norwegian Seamen's Church is located at 317 E 52 St., between 1st and 2nd Avenues.

Friday is movie night and the Big Apple offers a new Scandinavian movie opening on Oct. 12 - Marianne Fredriksson's epic novel of 1985 Simon and the Oaks has been adapted for the screen and opens at Paris on 58 St, just off Fifth Ave. on Friday.
