Tribeca Film Festival
Among the selected features at this year's festival were a few Scandinavian films. Among the narrative films, from Sweden, comes “Certain People” (Katinkas Kalas), which opened in Sweden in January, and has its international premiere here. Certain People @ Tribeca Directed by Levan Akin, the film depicts a small group of upper middle-class hipsters in their early thirties who gather to celebrate Katinka's birthday.
 The pleasant atmosphere of the party is interrupted by uninvited guest Linda, a blonde game show hostess.
Among the documentaries, from Denmark: Ballroom Dancer. Also from Denmark in the Cinemania category “Eddie - The Sleepwalker Cannibal” and from Norway comes “Jackpot” and from Finland “Rat King” in the same category.

Among the documentaries is also “The Russian Winter” directed by our original graphic designer of Nordic Reach Magazine, art director and friend Petter Ringbom. The Russian Winter @ Tribeca a documentary covering Brooklyn musician John Forté and his band while touring Russia

Tribeca Film Festival, April 18-29
Robert de Niro and Jane Rosenthal founded the Tribeca Film Festival in 2002 in response to 9/11 to help restore prosperity in Lower Manhattan. Today, the festival is known world wide and is the most prominent in the U.S. next to Sundance.
