At a showcase in the House of Sweden in late May in Washington, D.C., a New York company, Patient Access Solutions has presented its "Mobipen" solutions for home health care providers based on technologies from Anoto and Catrel, both Swedish firms.
At the point of home service, the Mobipen identifies the patient and the staff attendant, describes the type of help or service, records time spent and calculates changes in the patient's condition. The hand written information is then uploaded electronically to a health providing agency's computer system, converted into computerized notes, and stored as data for tracking and accountability.
