This spring, New York City sees its first Scandinavian American theater company - SATC. The other night they had their first in a series of staged readings, a reading of Swedish playwright Sofia Fredén’s comedy “Hand in Hand”. Fredén’s plays have been produced in many of Sweden’s city and regional theaters, at the Royal Dramatic Theater and also outside of Sweden in Germany and France. Under Swedish director Anders Cato’s baton this rollercoaster of a play, took shape. To help the company, there were some guest actors, most notably Charlotte Munch, a famous Danish actress. If this is what SATC has in the pipeline, then we’re all in for a good ride - the reading was speedy, fun and charming. "Hand in Hand' was the first in what's going to be 5 staged readings a year, all to be presented at Scandinavia House. All showcasing contemporaru Scandinavian playwrights. Don’t miss SATC’s first production, August Strindberg’s “Miss Julie”, which will be performed at Scandinavia House on June 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm.
