On April 18, Jakob Koranyi will play Ravel’s “Sonata for violin and cello” and Ravel’s “Introduction and Allegro” at Alice Tully Hall, and on April 19, he will perform “Suit no 1 in G” by Bach, “Rossini Variations” by Martinü, “Meditation Hebraique” by Bloch and “Sonata in E minor” by Brahms. Koranyi has won numerous prizes and awards, among them the 2nd Grand Prix and special prize for best interpretation of the Shostakovich Concerto No.1 in Paris last year. He has also won all the major Swedish competitions including the Swedish Soloist Prize in 2006, that launched his debut recording with works by Brahms, Britten, and Ligeti to great critical praise.
