Thanks to sponsorship by Swedish American Museum members Sherrie and Wally Magnuson, the inimitable entertainer Magnus Mårtensson will return to the Swedish American Museum on Sunday, Feb. 18. A light dinner at 5 p.m. precedes the 6 p.m. start of the comedic musical performance.

Mårtensson studied at the Malmö Academy of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music. A former university professor, he has been music director of the Scandinavian Chamber Orchestra of New York since 2002.

Mårtensson turned to comedy in 2003 after an impromptu performance in New York, and has toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Cabaret Scenes, a New York publication, credits him with “making people laugh out loud while astonishing them with musical virtuosity.”

In addition to his busy musical career, which has taken him to the United Nations and Carnegie Hall, Mårtensson is author of the book, “Thoughts, Verse and Further Nonsense.” He also has created two films, “The Dog” and “The Maestro.”

The cost to attend the dinner and presentation is $15 for museum members and $20 for non-members. Prepaid reservations may be made at the museum or at
